Cost and Application Process
Tuition $42,000 (2007-2008 school year)
Tuition includes room and board, school supplies, most activities, and most school trips. Personal expenses and supplies are not included. Students receive a small weekly allowance which is billed to parents. Students are not permitted to have additional spending money.
Application Procedure
Most applications begin with an e-mail or phone inquiry, followed by an extended phone discussion between parents and the headmaster to determine the likelihood of a good match between the student and Hampshire Country School. Application materials (e.g. school records, educational or psychological test results, and other relevant background materials) are then submitted. A visit to the school is required and is usually scheduled to include parent and student interviews with the headmaster, a meal and recreation time with students, and a visit to classes. Many parents also find it helpful to speak with some parents of current or former students.
Inquiries and applications are considered at any time, and it is not unusual for students to enter during the school year.
