Biography

I have worked in education for nearly twenty years, including three years of extensive international experience as an ESL instructor and three years as Chief Academic Officer at Evergreen Academy, an adult ESL school outside Washington, DC.

This is my second time at Hampshire Country School, having previously taught English here from 2018–2020. I was drawn back to HCS by its unique, intimate, student-centered approach to education and its emphasis on both academic and personal growth. The opportunity to work with unique students every day, surrounded by nearly 1,900 acres of woods, fields, ponds, and trails, makes HCS a particularly special place to continue my career in education.

In the classroom and through my Farm Time elective, I enjoy getting to know the boys and helping them explore their interests in different ways. At the farm, students learn what it takes to care for animals and gain a hands-on understanding of the work that keeps a farm running.

I am an avid reader and especially enjoy literature and literary analysis, as well as helping students discover the satisfaction of thoughtful writing and composition. I have traveled to fifty countries, but I am always happy to be back in my home state of New Hampshire. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, traveling, swimming in the pond, daydreaming in the fields, and riding motorcycles.
